Karoumbes
A really calm bay providing undisturbed privacy, a splendid view and beautiful nature. In the delta of the bay (at the end of the Hohlakies Canyon), you will find a small desert and also pools filled with water. In the surroundings there are remains of old ancient settlements.

The beach is located in the Karoumbes bay about 4 km from the village of Hohlakies, 11 km from Palekastro, and 12 km from Zakros. The whole area can be found about 25 km from Sitia. The beach can only be accessed walking from the Hohlakies village through the Hohlakies canyon. The beginning of the canyon is marked quite well, with the first mark at the bus stop. From there you can continue about 1 500 m by car or on a motorbike, then you can only walk - see the Hohlakies Canyon.
