Kato Zakros
Kato Zakros is a very peaceful and nice resort with a long beach and a range of activities. The whole area is formed by a small bay, with the beach stretching all over its length. In some places, you will find complete peace and privacy, while others offer a variety of games and social life. Right above the centre of the beach, you will find several small and cozy tavernas. Given the width of the beach and its very gentle slope into the water, the place is perfect for families with children. In one part, there is even a wooden pavement, enabling the access to the water also for the disabled.
The resort of Kato Zakros can be found at the mouth of the Gorge of the Dead where you can make a walking trip. Given the undemanding landscape, the walk through the Gorge of the Dead is also suitable for families with children.

ideální pro rodiny s malými dětmi, pro straší lidi a vůbec pro turisty, kteří hledají klidné místo pro pobyt a málo rušný turistický ruch. Rovněž je možné navštívit vykopávky z doby bronzové (minojské osídlení). Ubytování bezva. Moře teplé a klidné, možnost potápění a turistiky.

Kato Zakros is located on the east coast about 35 km from Sitia, 25 km from Palekastro, and nearly 20 km from the beach and the village of Xerokambos. The Hohlakies village where the Hohlakies Canyon with the Karoumbes Beach start is located about 16 km far.
