Katsounaki
Katsounaki is a beautiful and peaceful beach which ia about 250 m long and 10 metres wide. On both sides, it is bordered by rock promontories, with about a two-metre high sand embankment alongside. The slope of the beach into the sea is very gentle, just like the seabed. Even after two metres you will have water up to your knees (and up to your waist when walking two more metres). Both the beach and seabed are formed by fine sand.

Lokace
The beach is located about 2 km north-east of Xerokambos. The whole are can be found about 50 km from Sitia, 10 km from Zakros (Kato Zakros) and 30 km from Palekastro. Parallel to the coast, there is a dusty road starting in Xerokambos and continuing further to the east, ending with a small ground to park your car or a motorbike. From there it is about 300 m walking on a sandy ‘desert’ - through small dunes with prickly bushes.
