The town of Lambi, the calm suburb of the island capital Kos is located in the north of the island. Despite being really close to the capital, Lambi still preserves its unique atmosphere for which it is often sought-after by tourists. To go to Kos, you can go by bus, by car (whether your own or a rented oneú, or on a bicycle. Those who like to walk on paths surrounded by green vegetation can also go to Kos walking. The beautiful historic centre with traditional shops, restaurants and tavernas is a perfect place to go shopping and for night entertainment. The view onthe boats and yachts anchoring in the local port will certainly delight all romantic souls.
Beaches in Lambi and surroundings
The more than one kilometre long sand and pebble beach in Lambi is fringed by sky-blue sea and offers many possibilities of practicing the popular water sports like water skiing, for example, but also the ususal holiday idling and relaxation. For more comfort, you will find there umbrellas and deckchairs. Under the hot Greek sun, you can refresh yourself in the ubiquitous restaurants and snack bars tempting to taste exotic coctails and local speacialities. Another several kilometres long natural beach which is just as beautiful as the first one can be found also in the nearby town of Kos. There is a cycling track all over its length, quite atypical for Greece, which is what makes it exceptional and popular among the tourists. With its sandy seabed, the beach is not suitable for snorkelling as you could see there only little from the undersea life.
